Spring Lake Events | Dalton-Van Gilder Wedding

This North Georgia bride and groom met in middle school, and if that isn’t all you need to know about how sweet of a day this was, then I don’t know what is.

Debra and Jake reconnected after high school through a mutual friend, and then last year, on June 10th, Jake was down on one knee in the Dominican Republic in front of all of their friends and family that night at dinner.

The Wedding Details

There was so much love on Jake and Debra’s big day! One of my favorite things about this wedding was how happy and in love everyone looked!

This afternoon at Spring Lake Events seemed so seamless and effortless, like getting married was the most natural thing that the bride and groom could ever do. It was one of the most detailed weddings I have ever had the pleasure of shooting, and it was totally DIY by the bride, her mom, and family and friends! Definitely a labor of love.

On top of that, all of the little details worked into the day were so personal! DJ John Vandiver even had wedding photos and music videos playing on the screen during the reception.

Easily my favorite unique personal touch of the night: the wedding favors. Each guest was sent off with budding plants in pots!
And yes, as summer weddings ring true, there were plenty of flowers. From the bouquet to the arch to the pews and the cake (baked and decorated by Valerie McBryde), Gail Williams from A Perfect Wedding made this day look and smell like we were all celebrating on the inside of a rose!

Everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner catered by The Steak House Catering, and guests were guided around the venue by handcrafted signs from Southern Bs Designs.

Loved working alongside videographer, Scott, from ClayzVizion Media, as well!
