Whew. What a past few days. This past Saturday, my Granny Rose went home to Jesus. She always taught me to live fearlessly and by the beat of my own drum. And she and my mom are big influences in why I adore taking photographs. My mom asked me to collect photos I had taken of her for a slide show and sifting through photos of her was the best gift. Between my sister and I, I think we were able to capture Granny’s “highlight reel” the past 7-10 years. Perks of always having a camera in your car. But then this made me think about all the grandparents I get to meet on a wedding day. Grandmothers who want to fluff the veil or grandfathers who want to shake the grooms hand. And it hit me. I get to give my couples the same gift I’ll cherish more than any heirloom I could ever receive. I get to give them timeless photos with their sweet loved ones on one of the biggest days of their life. This made my stop in my tracks, get choked up, and give me yet another reason to love my job. Friends, I challenge you to call your loved one today. Go bring them a cup of coffee, sit with them, and steal a hug or two on your way out. And while you’re there- snap a selfie 😉. Granny selfies were always my favorite. And to all my 2019 couples: please forgive me if I spend just a minute or two more snapping a few photos of you and your loved ones. I promise you’ll love them. #savannahevephotography
